“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”
~2 Corinthians 2:14
Wow! We are always victorious in Christ! And Jesus shines through us, to unbelievers, wherever we go! “Every place” means when you go to the grocery store, Church, the office or jobsite, your neighbor’s gathering, school, various appointments, the library, mall, playgrounds…to the uttermost parts of the earth!
Our only responsibility is to rest in Jesus and experience HIM! This is the kind of experience that the word “Knowledge” is talking about in the verse above.
Simply pause and acknowledge that He is right here, right now. Connect with Him! Spend time conversing with Jesus, just as you would a friend. (Or, really, as the fiancé you are about to marry at any time!) Realize Who He is! Reflect on His everlasting, unconditional love.
Finally, with this practical understanding of “knowledge” (or knowing Jesus), how is this “savour” (i.e., fragrance) manifest to others? The vehicle or vessel God uses is us! He shines and manifests Himself through—”By us in every place.” Picture Him shining through us like this:
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
~2 Corinthians 4:7
Let us go out boldly! For the Creator, and King, of Heaven and Earth has given us the marching order: “Go…”!
– Testimonies From Week 19 –
“On Sunday, we had an unexpected stop at the grocery store, and we did not have many tracts along with us. I picked up a Spanish tract that was sitting in the car, knowing that we often see Spanish speaking people shopping there.
As we walked through the store, I was somewhat surprised that I did not see anyone that looked Hispanic. Then I saw a lady down an isle that looked like she might be, but I couldn’t tell for sure, and we did not need anything from that isle, so I didn’t go out of my way just to find out if she could read Spanish.
Later, as we checked out, Papa asked where the third dozen of eggs was. There had been a miscommunication, and we had only picked up two dozen; so now, I was headed back through the store to get more eggs … right through the isle where the Hispanic looking lady was currently shopping! As I came back through with the eggs, I said “buenos tardes!” [good afternoon] she looked up and replied “buenos tardes!” (this confirmed that she knew Spanish) So I said “this is for you!” and handed her the tract. She was very grateful, and thanked me twice!
God truly does use everything for good!
God used the lack of tracts, so I would take the lone Spanish tract in; and He used the miscommunication of how many eggs to buy, so that I would meet up with that ONE Spanish lady in the store — the one person He knew needed that tract!”
